Professor McLaughlin is the H.M. King Bhumibol Professor of Water Management. He received both his MSE (1967) and PhD (1985) from Princeton University and spent his early career in various positions as a consulting engineer in the field of water resources. In 1984, he joined MIT’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEE). He is also a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).
